Not quite, never an easy game against Belgrave even when they do only have 13 men! For 25 minutes we played with 2 men up and only managed to score 13 points. Their latecomers shored up a creaky defence and it became a game!

Some early bickering stopped us from making a bigger gap and almost cost us as Belgrave, buoyed by their new arrivals, started to make hard yards into our area. However the trust our team has for one another ensured our line did not break as we held out to get to half time 13-0 up with tries from James Coulthurst and the departing Liam Palmer (uni).

A half time team talk and a few wise words from the older heads helped us get back in the swing as our early second half dominance produced a penalty within range that Sam "smeagol" Howkins slotted over with ease. This continued for most of the half with Belgrave rarely threatening our line and being punished by a further 2 easy penalties. A lapse in concentration (and a 6ft 4, 20 stone bloke!!) late in the half, cost us as Belgrave snatched a consolation try in the dying seconds of the game. This could not dampen our spirits as the ref told us the kick off would be the last play of the game(even though coulthurst, a now veteran of the game, cannot understand "kick it out!!" being shouted by 14 other men!!) and granting us our 2nd win of the season and keeping us 100%!
